it's simple, because the bigger files from games are cached to yield better load times it leaves only the texutres LODs to stream from the disc so while most of the data sits in the hard disk it only leaves the light stuff to stream from the disk. Why is that difficult to understand. THe same thing will happen in the future where you will only have the exectuables and you will stream the textures from the internet.

you don't know what you are talking about. because some of the PS3 games cache from the hard drive it leaves the blu-ray discs streaming the textures.
faster hard drives load up the executable faster only leaving the textures to be streamed from the disc. There are also several PSN games that load straight from the hard drive. Please never post again.
those were probably first SSD drives. THey are working on increasing the efficiency/speeds on the newer SSDs.
I don't want to discourage SSD because they are the future but what worries me is the life expectancy as they can wear out faster with out the proper app.
